No It’s Not a Take Over, It’s a Test

Following the meeting with the UBC of God in SA, we gave a feedback at the branch in Phelindaba. We informed them about the hostile take over tactics lead by Bishop Mavuso, supported by several Pastors and members of our very own church. This is biggest test we had to go through yet. How we do during this period will tell whether we are deserving of UBC in Jesus Christ as a church, or not.

Members listening to the feedback were flabbergasted with the blatant disregard of the mandate by those who were delegated to attend the Germiston meeting. This is seen as a blatant sell out. It does not make sense. How can a person take what they have built over a period of 18 years, with six circuit, and hand it over to a person with one circuit, and with a history of strife and splits?

Therefore, this is not a hostile takeover. It will not be, not even by a long shot. It is simple – those who have attempted to sell us out, must just go and join the UBC of God in South Africa. The hostile takeover will be on them. We will remain in the United Baptist Church in Jesus Christ, and continue with the good work and good principles that it espouses.

Those who remain in our UBC, will not entertain anything that has to do with the merger, and will no concern themselves with UBC of God in South Africa.

We will call a mass meeting of the branches to give this feedback, We will preach the message of unity among ourselves and appeal to members not to be enticed by those who wish to split us. We however acknowledge that some of us are already taken over by mind, heart, soul and spirit, and we will not stop them. We will appeal to those who have not been taken over yet.

So, no, we have not been taken over. We have been presented with a test that has a potential to split us up as UBC in Jesus Christ. We hope to pass the test with flying colours.
